Dr. Bowers is a retired obstetrician/gynecologist who resides in Cincinnati, Ohio. He provided obstetrical care and delivered Cincinnati’s first in vitro fertilization and frozen embryo infants. He has been recognized for humanitarian service by the Cincinnati Academy of Medicine. He was admitted to NOMADS in 1996, currently serving as president. His interests external to golf are community/international affairs, politics, church and music. He has travelled to the African continent on two occasions to provide teaching and medical relief work in Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia. He has served as chairman and secretary of the Ohio Commission on Minority Health. Activities in the local community include service as vice chair of the United Way, Citizens Police Review Board, numerous boards. A faculty member at the University of Cincinnati Medical School, he has served on the Admissions Committee for 28 years. He enjoys music, plays saxophone and flute, and has an extensive jazz collection. Family is dear to him, particularly the care and mentoring of his grand children. NOMADS is high on his list of priorities. He has not missed an annual meeting since admission.
